Agnes Questionmark - Transhuman Trans-Species

Before you do anything go and have a look at the website...

How good is that, right?

Agnes Questionmark remains an enigmatic figure within the art world. Despite the mystery surrounding her background, her impact on contemporary art is profound. Nurtured in a creative environment, Agnes developed a distinct artistic style that merges abstract forms with conceptual themes. By adopting a pseudonym to preserve her anonymity, she adds to the intrigue surrounding her compelling portfolio of artworks.

Questionmark is known as a cross-media and cross-species artist, focusing on using her own body as the main medium in her artwork. Agnes views the human body as a platform for exploration, ready for change. Essentially, Agnes showcases different physical transformations influenced by the environment. Her fascination with the underwater realm is clear, perhaps stemming from her upbringing extensively on her father's boat.

Agnes uses a range of artistic forms like performance, sculpture, video, and installation to demonstrate the impact of medical and reproductive systems on identity, particularly through biological determinism. By exploring genetic and surgical interventions, Questionmark confronts these systems, pushing both herself and her viewers through her art. She prompts questions about transgender and transpecies individuals in a society largely run by humans. Her debut artist book was recently published by NERO Editions.

Have a read of this as well, quite interesting, if a little bleak for human kind.
